About Me? Kind of...

Hi! I'm Becca.

I hate pulling together 'About Me' information. It always seems a bit forced, selling yourself to people. So, instead I will go the route of sharing with you, things I'm passionate about, and maybe we can connect that way.

Animals

I have a never-ending passion for saving animals. I have been involved in dog rescue with a personal owned and operated rescue organization since 2018 then separated and formed my current rescue, "Rogues Rescue Ranch" in 2020.

Before commiting to starting my own organizations, I had been fostering for rescues in the greater Houston area since 2011.

Mental Health

I, personally, have experienced terrifying battles with my own mental health, and as I continue to put in the work to reclaim a steadier mind, I want everyone who visits this page to know, that I will always offer a safe space for you. If you need an ear, I will lend one. Losing a dear friend of mine to suicide had destabilized me in ways I hadn't noticed at the time. If you feel alone and lost in the deep abyss of never-ending pain, I am here for you. Keep pushing through it. There is always someone waiting and hoping you will come home.

Anti-Racism

If I sat here and tried to tell you I'm hugely active in the fight against racism and bigotry, I would be lying. I don't use social media often, (I'm quite terrible with consistency when it comes to posting content) and I don't have a following of any impressionable amounts. However, I have found BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ creators who ARE active and put in hours of their personal time to educate their communities. Through them I have learned, not only about their communities and ways I can actively help and support them respectively, but how to deconstruct and analyze the racism that is naturally imbedded in my whiteness and work towards being anti-racist. Which has been difficult, if I'm being honest. Pushing past my initial response to 'keep the peace' has been the most difficult aspect of implementing these guided practices, but with each instance, I am growing and learning what is more important to me. Keeping the peace with people who don't respect or treat others as equals? Or pointing out racist tendencies within my family, friends or co-workers, so that (hopefully) they too, can open their minds and recognize their own harmful behaviors. I am not an activist of any sorts, but I'm here to keep my mind open and learn from those who are.

The content in my books will be extremely triggering for you and unless you will be reading these stories to expose yourself to a diverse world where love is love where you are not judged or treated differently for the color of your skin, how big someone's body is, or who someone loves or has sex with, TO LEARN, DO NOT invest your time and money here.
